Headphone Heroine: Of Monsters and Men

Heard this song on the radio and can't stop singing! By the newly formed (2009) six piece indie folk/indie pop band Of Monsters and Men from Iceland, comes the song Little Talks off of the CD also entitled Little Talks. From what I get from the song, its a conversation between a depressed girl and a guy who wants to help her and doesn't like seeing her this way; it has a very sweet sound.

Lyrics:
Hey! Hey! Hey!
I don't like walking around this old and empty houseSo hold my hand; I'll walk with you, my dearThe stairs creak as I sleep; it's keeping me awakeIt's the house telling you to close your eyes

Some days I can't even dress myselfIt's killing me to see you this way

'Cause though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore

Hey! Hey! Hey!

There's an old voice in my head that's holding me backWell tell her that I miss our little talksSoon it will be over and buried with our pastWe used to play outside when we were young, and full of life and full of love

Some days, I don't know if I am wrong or rightYour mind is playing tricks on you, my dear

'Cause though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore.

Hey!Don't listen to a word I sayHey!The screams all sound the sameHey!

Though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore

You're gone, gone gone away; I watched you disappearAll that's left is a ghost of youNow we're torn, torn, torn apart; there's nothing we can doJust let me go; we'll meet again soonNow wait, wait, wait for me; please hang aroundI'll see you when I fall asleep

Hey!Don't listen to a word I sayHey!The screams all sound the sameHey!

Though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore

Don't listen to a word I sayHey!The screams all sound the sameHey!

Though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore
