Little Doe is a custom accessory company creates one of a kind accessories out of antique materials.

They had so many pictures on their website and I had a really hard time trying to decide which ones to post, but here are my favorites from the collection.

Best of HONY: Fashion

I began looking through the many pictures that Humans of New York has posted, and chose some that I felt had great fashion sense. Then I decided to figure out where some of this clothes came from, or where you could get something similar.

I used to own one of these petticoats from Hot Topic, but they no longer sell them in this style. Here is one I found off of Amazon.

Found these awesome Spiked Oxfords to be from Christian Louboutin and can be purchased here.

This Betsey Johnson Sweater can now only be found in a blue version here.

I couldn't find any black platform boots quite like his, but I found a few that are similar:

Alain Quilici Kelov Slashed Wedge Ankle Boot

He made this hat. It is absolutely fantastic!

This kid is dressed so cute!

Wasn't able to find the exact shirt, but found that it is most likely by Betsey Johnson, and can be found in sweater and jumper form.

Did you notice that even his drink is black? I have no idea where these platform loafers came from, but I love em!

Couldn't find the exact scarf, but found a similar and pretty cute one here by Paula Bianco.

Found this darling red polka dot dress from Rachel Antonoff here.

Bullseye Blogs: Freely Courageous Fashion

Freely Courageous Fashion is a blog by a friend of mine, Nia. It features her own style, with pictures, descriptions, and where she got anything that she is wearing (plus! she's currently rocking some awesome red hair!). I love her style so much! And honestly, looking at her blog is what got me back into fashion recently, because it made me realize that there are real people who do this too, and it inspired me to begin looking into fashion. :D

PAPERFASHION

I am so happy that I found this artist. She is an fashion illustrator, and that is exactly what I think I want to be, but I've never really seen the work of a real fashion illustrator. I absolutely love Katie Rodger's style and use of watercolors (which is also one of my favorite mediums to work with). I have been told a lot recently (especially when I went to a portfolio review at the Ringling College of Art and Design) that I need to trade in my watercolors for technology (i.e. my Bamboo Tablet and Photoshop) if I wanted to go into illustration, because it is all changing, but what Paperfashion has given me is realization that if watercolors is what I want to do, then I can make it work. Not that I don't enjoy my Bamboo, I just really like the look of watercolors, the risk involved with every move (there's no "command" + "z" option).

“Imagination is more important than knowledge” – Einstein
Katie Rodgers dreamt up Paperfashion in March 2009, and has since been illustrating whimsical fashion that never fails to captivate our attention.
Katie and her watercolors have had a long love story, going back to the days before she knew how to read. Given her first professional watercolor set in first grade, she instantly fell in love with what would later become her career.
Katie is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, with a BFA in Industrial Design. After independently pursuing fashion and apparel design throughout college, she landed her first apparel design job in Boston, MA. While working a 9-5, she continued to illustrate in her spare time, and quickly realized it was her true passion. Soon thereafter, Paperfashion was born! Katie took the leap in January 2012, and is now illustrating full time.
Paperfashion has been commissioned by companies such as Kate Spade, Coach, OlsenBoye, Lucky Magazine, Nabisco, Penelope and Coco, Rockport, Target, and AKW, just to name a few. She has also been published in Lucky Magazine, ElleGirl, CosmoGirl, The Great Big Book of Fashion Illustration, Fashion Drawing by Michele Wesen Bryant, and many other publications.
She is now represented by Digital Brand Architects.

Darling Designers: Ali Golden

As soon I happened upon Ali Golden's Fall '12 Collection entitled Good-As-Gold, I fell in love with the simplicity and variety in her collection, which ranges from form-fitting, to completely unformed, backless dresses to coats, velvet to sheer fabric, and just a few things in common that really tie them all together: black tights (except for the photo with pants) and heels.

Dashing DIY: Cosmic Shoes

I found this tutorial on Refinery29 and was incredibly excited, however, when I clicked the link for it, it said that the blog no longer exists. :/ Even when I looked up "Goth Reform School" all I found was reposts of this tutorial with the same links, or articles about Goth Reform School. So, with time, I am determined to figure out how to do this DIY and will post it.

DIY A Pair Of Cosmic Space Shoes

Not an astrophysicist? Neither are we, but we appreciate a night admiring the cosmos as much as Carl Sagan does. With this fun tutorial from Nancy at Goth Reform School, you can do a little stargazing when you're doing a little shoegazing... With some acrylic paint, an old pair of canvas shoes, tape, and some creative brush-wielding skills, you can turn some ho-hum slip-ons into real works of art. The possibilities—like space—are endless, as well. Imaging how chic they'd be on a pair of canvas wedges, or high-tops, or even on a backpack—let your brush run wild! Check out the step-by-step tutorial, here.

Lookbook Lately

(I know I post a bunch of Lookbook pictures, but I am just in love love love with some of the outfits!!)

Loving the sparkle collar and cuffs:

Not only is the outfit awesome, but so is her hair. On the page, she doesn't tell where to get the shirt, however, I have either the same shirt or one very very close, which can be found at Target.

No Impact Man

Ever wonder what it would be like if you tried to spend a day without creating any waste or using any energy? With Earth Day coming up (April 21st), and I know I've been thinking of everything I can do to waste less. Well this man, Colin Beavan, a.k.a. No Impact Man, and his family, did this for a year. There is a documentary on Netflix ( I believe it is no longer on instant play, and you have to order it by mail. What's ironic, is the fact that you have to waste paper and transportation energy to watch a movie about using less waste.) that tracks them and what they are doing to help reduce their carbon foot print. He has a blog on which you can read the things he has to say, and learn more about what you can do to help reduce your carbon foot print.

Watch the trailer here.

"Colin Beavan decides to completely eliminate his personal impact on the environment for the next year.
It means eating vegetarian, buying only local food, and turning off the refrigerator. It also means no elevators, no television, no cars, busses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage.
No problem – at least for Colin – but he and his family live in Manhattan. So when his espresso-guzzling, retail-worshipping wife Michelle and their two-year-old daughter are dragged into the fray, the No Impact Project has an unforeseen impact of its own.
Laura Gabbert and Justin Schein's film provides an intriguing inside look into the experiment that became a national fascination and media sensation, while examining the familial strains and strengthened bonds that result from Colin and Michelle’s struggle with their radical lifestyle change."

Headphone Heroine: Of Monsters and Men

Heard this song on the radio and can't stop singing! By the newly formed (2009) six piece indie folk/indie pop band Of Monsters and Men from Iceland, comes the song Little Talks off of the CD also entitled Little Talks. From what I get from the song, its a conversation between a depressed girl and a guy who wants to help her and doesn't like seeing her this way; it has a very sweet sound.

Lyrics:
Hey! Hey! Hey!
I don't like walking around this old and empty houseSo hold my hand; I'll walk with you, my dearThe stairs creak as I sleep; it's keeping me awakeIt's the house telling you to close your eyes

Some days I can't even dress myselfIt's killing me to see you this way

'Cause though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore

Hey! Hey! Hey!

There's an old voice in my head that's holding me backWell tell her that I miss our little talksSoon it will be over and buried with our pastWe used to play outside when we were young, and full of life and full of love

Some days, I don't know if I am wrong or rightYour mind is playing tricks on you, my dear

'Cause though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore.

Hey!Don't listen to a word I sayHey!The screams all sound the sameHey!

Though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore

You're gone, gone gone away; I watched you disappearAll that's left is a ghost of youNow we're torn, torn, torn apart; there's nothing we can doJust let me go; we'll meet again soonNow wait, wait, wait for me; please hang aroundI'll see you when I fall asleep

Hey!Don't listen to a word I sayHey!The screams all sound the sameHey!

Though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore

Don't listen to a word I sayHey!The screams all sound the sameHey!

Though the truth may vary, this ship will carryOur bodies safe to shore

Shoes I wish I had: Wedges

I am in love with wedges, not only are they the most comfortable and easiest heels to walk in (or at least I think so) they can look really awesome. Browsing some of my favorite sites, I found a few I wouldn't mind having in my closet.

Classic Nude Color Heels $58 from Nasty Gal:

Floral Platform Wedges (who doesn't love floral?!) Also $58 and also from Nasty Gal:

"So Choice" Black Faux Suede Wedges, $59 from ModCloth:

I wish to one day be able to afford Jeffrey Campbells, these were on sale at Urban Outfitters, but are now sold out:

Loving these Minimarket Wati Wedges, though they cost $517 at Urban Ourtiffers:

Bullseye Blogs: Gaga Fashionland

Ever wonder where Lady Gaga finds her outfits? At first, I thought she had them all custom designed. But then I discovered a blog that fit my curiosity: Gaga Fashionland. This blog is definitely something I'd consider a "Bullseye Blog", or in other words, a blog that hits the bullseye in finding exactly what I was looking for.

Gaga Fashionland is a place where, the editor, named Patricia, finds various photos of Gaga in her outfits, and finds the runways the pieces came from. I think it quite amazing that someone is able to find such unique pieces amongst a sea of fashion, but somehow, she's able to do it.

If you're a Gaga fan like myself, you'll find your self addicted to the seemingly endless pages of this blog, hoping to one day have the ability to dress like Mother Monster.
